Volunteer Opportunities

EDYM is always welcoming volunteers to come and assist with any number of projects. Volunteers can help at the project site doing agricultural/ farm work, or work with other groups (schools, youth groups, Women's groups etc) doing educational or health-related programs, or any other like-minded program of your initiative that falls within our interests. EDYM Volunteers benefit from having direct, hands-on practical experience with environment and development work in Ghana. Furthermore, our foreign volunteers will have the opportunity for cross-culture exchange and a broadening of one's horizons. Many aspects of Ghana's culture thrive here, such as drumming, dancing, drama, wood-carving, kente-cloth weaving, etc. Have is situated in a beautiful mountain range in a tropical climate, just 3 miles from the Lake Volta. Travel to eco-tourism sites (waterfalls, monkey sanctuaries, caves etc.) is accessible.

It is best if volunteers have a background or interest in environment/agriculture, or development, though it's not necessary. Volunteers need a proficiency in English. The time and duration of volunteering is flexible, though it is best that the minimum length of stay is 6 weeks. Room and board will be provided for you.

Please contact the program coordinator, Paul Kpai, with any questions or to express interest.
